is it possible somehow for the effect to not go to the Squares on both ends but to be dots all the way from black to white?

@josipvrandecic, If I understand you correctly, you could achieve this result by inputting a custom pattern (1st button in the parameters) composed of conical gradients (it would look similar to the Alveolus node). You can easily create one using the "Splatter" node or the "Tile Generator" node for instance.

I meant "radial gradient" NOT "conical gradient" ;)

Can we increase the resolution limite ? please :)

@olivier.sayer I'm pretty sure the resolution parameter is not clamped. You can set it to whatever value you want.
